She feels a strong personal connection to Sacagawea due to their shared Native American heritage, as Sarah is from the Nakota tribe and Sacagawea was from the Shoshone and Mandan tribes. Both women are from the Plains region and face challenges with name mispronunciations. Sarah’s Nakota name, meaning “Eagle Nation Woman,” reflects a spiritual connection to eagles, similar to Sacagawea’s transformation into an eagle in the drama. Sarah enjoyed working on the project, especially the fresh perspective on Sacagawea’s story and the inclusion of historical truth.
